Let The Holy Spirit Control My Mind

 

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

I will not let my sinful nature dominate me, instead, I will be controlled by the Holy Spirit, and letting him control my mind and thoughts will lead me to life and peace.

Living in the Spirit Not Just Obeying the Letter of the Law

 

But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.

I need to obey God not by obeying the letter of the law, but obeying the spirit of God, I did not do a great job applying this in my life but I will rely on God to help me obey His law more in the future.

God's Grace Gives Freedom

 

Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

I'm not required to live under the law, because God's grace gives me freedom but I should follow the law without forgetting God's grace.

God's Wonderful Grace

 

For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.

One man brought sin into the world, but God's wonderful grace saved me through Jesus.  And through Jesus, I can triumph over sin.

Endurance Develops Strength Of Character

 

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.

God will help me endure trials in my life so that I can develop strength of character by relying on God and not myself.  I have confident hope in His salvation.

God Will Conceal Me When Troubles Come

 

For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

Psalms 27:5 NLT

God will conceal me from troubles and I must trust him and He will keep me safe.

Never Waver in Believing God's Promise

 

Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.

God made a promise to Abraham that he would have a son, Isaac, and God kept that promise, but he never wavered in his faith.  I need to have faith in God for what His plan is for my life.  I should imitate Abraham and have faith in God like he did.
