Choose Whom You Will Serve

Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.

1 Kings 18:21 NLT

The people of Israel had to choose to serve God or false gods.  I have to make a choice about whether I want to serve God or myself.  I must choose God and put Him first in my life and follow His Word.

Never Get Tired of Doing What Is Good

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

Galatians 6:9 NLT

I will not get tired of doing good.  God wants me to be persistent in doing good to reap a harvest of blessing.  I reap a harvest of blessings by following His Word.

The Fruit of the Spirit

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 NLT

https://bible.com/bible/116/gal.5.22-23.NLT

I must produce the fruit of the Spirit in my life.  These are things that God wants me to do and I need to put them into practice all the time around others.

See Things From God’s Point of View, Not the Human Point of View

Jesus turned around and looked at his disciples, then reprimanded Peter. “Get away from me, Satan!” he said. “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”

Mark 8:33 NLT

https://bible.com/bible/116/mrk.8.33.NLT

I must see things from God's point of view, not a human point of view.  While from a human point of view, Jesus' death would be bad because He wouldn't be able to perform miracles and heal people, from God's point of view, Jesus wouldn't pay the price for our sins because He wouldn't go to the Cross and die and rise from the dead three days later.

I must remember to see situations and circumstances from God's point of view and not a human point of view, because God sees the big picture, I don't.
